Thank you,
Getting your clothing designs out there is a hard game of vying for attention in an oversaturated world of constant competition, so thank you for showing up and helping us grow this past weekend.

The Autumn Affair
I've built small businesses before. I've been marketing myself and my art in one way or another since I was 12, and it's no easy feat. We used to have a newspaper covering a hole in our bathroom ceiling. Every night as I took my shower, I would look up and see an ad that stated in bold print,
"80% of small businesses fail within the first three years;
don't let that be you."
As weird and hilarious as the placement was, the quote stuck with me. I decided that under no circumstances would I be that small business.
From doll clothes to hand-painted books, I've found that the first year of creating and turning your idea into reality and income is a game of strategic marketing and churning out as many pieces as possible so that your work can be seen amidst an ocean of a market. I've also found that the biggest factor that drives sales aside from time and marketing is word-of-mouth.
During the Autumn Affair, I had so many people show up and say how they'd heard of my designs and skills from friends and family. To hear that you're an amazing seamstress from multiple strangers in one day does WONDERS for your ego and confidence :)
I wanted to issue a thank you to everyone who has been "advertising" for me behind the scenes. I appreciate it so much more than you realize, and it helps me grow in a way nothing else can.
Thank you

What's next?
All of my pieces are still at The Patchwork Co. Feel free to come in and browse during our open hours: Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 11 am-5 pm.
The rest of October will be blocked out for a special commission. I will still be accepting alterations and custom orders but won't start working on anything until the beginning of November.
Christmas is coming! If you want to give the gift of handmade clothing, browse our website or contact me to purchase a gift card! A gift card is a great way to give your loved one the choice over style, color, and size and cover the cost of their custom garment, alteration, or ready-made piece.
As always, I am available for any and all questions through my email annablassdesign@gmail.com or in person at The Patchwork Co.
Thank you once again,
Anna
